About
Range software
should be boring.
Boring in the good way: it opens fast, it does what the person at the counter expects, and it does not require a phone call to change a price. That is the whole ambition.
01Why
Four vendors
and a clipboard.
Look at what an independent range actually runs on and you tend to find the same picture: a point-of-sale system for the retail side, a separate booking tool for lanes, a waiver service with its own login, a spreadsheet for memberships, and a clipboard for whatever falls between them.
The software that promises to fix that is usually a full firearms POS suite. Those are serious products, and if you need a bound book and 4473s they may well be the right answer. But they are priced for a retailer doing volume, they take weeks to implement, and range operations is rarely the part they are best at. A range with twelve lanes and a small pro shop ends up paying enterprise money for a scheduling calendar.
The alternative — a generic facility booking tool — is cheap and fast, and has never heard of a waiver, a rangemaster, a caliber restriction, or a rental firearm that has to come back.
Rangune is the missing middle: range operations, done properly, at software prices, without pretending to be your cash register.
02How we build
Five rules we
hold ourselves to.
You change it, not us
Lane rules, pricing bands, waiver text, membership tiers — all of it is data you edit in the admin. If a change to how your range works needs a support ticket, we designed it wrong.
Safety rules live on the server
Guardian requirements, age minimums and caliber limits are enforced in the API. A rule you can bypass by opening dev tools is not a rule, it is a suggestion.
Your money is yours
Stripe Connect, your account, you as merchant of record. We take a subscription and nothing else — no percentage of a booking, no float sitting in our account.
Fast beats featureful
The floor view is the screen your staff will look at ten thousand times. It gets optimised like it. Everything else can be one click deeper.
Stay in our lane
We will not build a bound book, we will not build 4473s, and we will not try to replace your register. Doing three things properly beats doing nine things adequately.
If we ever break one of these, tell us. It is a bug report, not a feature request.

What we
deliberately
do not build.
Every honest product page should have this section. Here is ours, so you can rule us out in five minutes instead of five weeks.
-
4473s and the bound book
Serialised-firearm compliance carries real legal exposure and deserves a specialist. Most ranges we looked at already run FastBound or similar. We would rather integrate than imitate.
-
A retail point of sale
If you need to ring up a scope mount and a box of primers with a barcode scanner and a cash drawer, keep the register you have. Rangune sits beside it.
-
Inventory and purchasing
Stock levels, vendor orders and margin reporting belong to your POS or your e-commerce platform. We track rental firearms, not shelves.
-
An accounting system
We produce clean exports and a Stripe ledger you can reconcile. We are not going to be your general ledger.
04Who builds it
MadFish Solutions.
Rangune is built by MadFish Solutions, a small software team that spends its days on commerce systems — storefronts, catalogues, checkout, the integrations that hold a merchant's operation together.
That background is why Rangune ships as two channels rather than one. A range that already sells on BigCommerce gets lane time in the same cart as ammunition. A range with no storefront at all gets a hosted booking page and Stripe, and never has to think about e-commerce again.
Small team, direct support. When you email about a bug you are emailing someone who can fix it.
Rangune
Built for the counter, not the boardroom
05Where it goes next
On the bench.
What we are working on, in the order we are working on it. Dates move; the order rarely does. If something here matters to your range, tell us — it moves things up.
